Dismissed! The Gambia Police Force wishes to inform the public that Police Constable Alieu G. Camara, Police Constable Buba Touray and Police Constable Ismaila Bah have been dismissed from The Gambia Police Force with immediate effect following the conclusion of internal disciplinary proceedings. The disciplinary action follows separate incidents of misconduct, including the widely circulated video showing PC Alieu G. Camara behaving in a manner unbecoming of a police officer towards a shopkeeper. In accordance with the GPF’s disciplinary procedures, the three officers were formally charged and appeared before an Orderly Room hearing, where each pleaded guilty to the charges preferred against them. Their guilty pleas resulted in their dismissal from The Gambia Police Force with immediate effect. The Gambia Police Force remains steadfast in upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline and accountability. These dismissals underscore the Force’s zero-tolerance policy towards misconduct and reaffirm its unwavering commitment to preserving public confidence in policing. The GPF assures the public that any officer found to have violated the laws, regulations or ethical standards governing the Force will be held accountable in accordance with established disciplinary procedures.
