you can use a MIG welder with nickel wire on pulse mode does a great job

Cast-iron can be welded. It’s just a lot of work. You have to preheat it use a high nickel rod like nickel 99 and then let it cool slowly it’s a a lot of work so silver solder is a good option. Braising would also be a good option.

I prefer silver solder or brazing on gray cast. Much better bond.
