Maybe the problem isn’t that fashion borrows from culture. Fashion has always borrowed. The problem is when it borrows the aesthetic but ignores the people, history, and reality behind it. I love your videos. I don’t always leave agreeing with everything, but I always leave with something new to think about. I really appreciate the way you break down your perspective. As someone building in fashion myself, I’d honestly love to work with you or exchange ideas someday.

Anytime I wear something that isn’t of my culture, I always learn the history about it. I don’t follow trends and buy from stores that have the purpose of profiting off trends. I try to make what I buy an ethical practice.

I hope one day the world gets to a point where we all love each other and share cultures with each other, it will never happen though:/ I wish people could just accept that society is not to the point where culture can be shared and not be culture vultures.
