It's especially relevant since Neko confirmed it doesn't really register to Pierrot that the MC ages differently than the circus members & he's not prepared to deal with their much shorter lifespan. So even if they live to be old & grey he could still choose to eat them as the only way to keep them we with him forever.

It’s kind of interesting when you think about it I mean when they had to eat Columbina he felt physically sick of actually having to do it his hatred for Harlequin for making him do it is huge because Pierrot was in love with Columbina. But now, I think he sees it differently getting to devour the person he loves most is a way he can keep them with him forever but only if it’s just him devouring us it has to just be him. Unlike when they ate Columbina they did it because if they didn’t they were going to starve to death so it’d be different for us if he were to eat us. Though I think there’s a higher chance Harlequin would eat than Pierrot since he’s more daring
