@netlab.academy: 🚀 VLAN Configuration Lab in Cisco Packet Tracer In this project, I demonstrated how to create VLANs and assign switch ports on a Cisco 2960 switch. 🔧 Network Setup: ✔️ 1 Cisco 2960 Switch ✔️ 4 PCs ✔️ VLAN 10 – ADMIN Department (Ports Fa0/1–Fa0/2) ✔️ VLAN 20 – MANAGEMENT Department (Ports Fa0/3–Fa0/4) 📚 What We Learned: VLANs allow us to logically separate devices into different networks even when they are connected to the same switch. After assigning the PCs to their respective VLANs: 🔹 Devices within VLAN 10 can communicate with each other. 🔹 Devices within VLAN 20 can communicate with each other. 🔹 Devices in VLAN 10 cannot communicate directly with devices in VLAN 20. Why? 🤔 Because each VLAN creates a separate broadcast domain. A Layer 2 switch forwards traffic within the same VLAN, but it cannot route traffic between different VLANs. 💡 So how do we make VLAN 10 and VLAN 20 communicate? In the next video, we'll add a router and configure Inter-VLAN Routing using Router-on-a-Stick (ROAS), allowing devices in different VLANs to communicate with each other.
