Yes fr it’s insane I actually don’t know what to do, as a kid I thought empathy was a thing that like everyone felt. As an adult I learned it’s definitely not.

I remember that one time in class when our philosophy teacher asked us: Would you rather live in ignorance but be happy and content or be knowledgable and thus see everything that‘s going wrong in the world? — only 2 people voted for the latter. Whenever I ask myself, how can so many people not care, I think about that day in class.
