Would you be able to demo this on a Smith machine? I always end up feeling it in my glutes no matter what I do, belt or no belt, but this video actually makes a lot of sense to me. Honestly, I just hate using a barbell. I'm in grad school and my time is limited, so a setup that takes forever is a hard no for me. The Smith machine is just way more practical and possibly a good compromise between the two.

I don’t feel it in my glutes AT ALL with a barbell or smith machine I feel all other muscles involved. I can’t ever get the bench height right, or my feet placement right. The machine is the ONLY time I’ve actually felt my glutes

Yasss you definitely you got a point , that tempo is important along with that squeeze. I prefer the bar over the machine

Agree! I use the machine now, but for my first three years, barbell only (max at 450 also). I’m an old lady and do things that make sense to me in the gym. I appreciate this.
