I’ve never seen it that bad. That means the ocean’s temperature is rapidly increasing.

Yes, the massive explosions of sargassum seaweed are largely driven by climate change. The explosion of the "Great Atlantic Sargassum Belt"—a massive mat of seaweed stretching from West Africa to the Caribbean—is fueled by several interlocking factors:Warming Waters: Sargassum thrives in warmer, high-temperature oceans. Rising sea temperatures allow it to reproduce and grow rapidly.Nutrient Overload: Climate change-induced weather patterns (alongside agricultural runoff and deforestation in the Amazon basin) increase the nutrients washed into the ocean. This acts as fertilizer for the seaweed.Shifted Currents: Changes in global wind patterns and ocean currents have transported these algae from the historically isolated Sargasso Sea into new regions across the tropical Atlantic and Caribbean. While seaweed naturally exists in the ocean, the exponential growth in volume (reaching up to 20 million tons in recent years) and the subsequent beach strandings are classified by researchers as a direct result of human-induced climate imbalance and ocean pollution

There’s a short documentary on a guy who founded a company making bricks out of sargassum to utilize it & clean up the beaches simultaneously. He lived in the US for a while before moving back home to help build affordable homes for his people.

“Sargassum is a free-floating genus of large, brown marine seaweed (algae) that lives entirely on the ocean's surface and never attaches to the seafloor.”

It’s a type of brown algae. When large mats wash ashore, they rot and release hydrogen sulfide, producing a rotten‑egg odor that degrades water quality. In muggle words…it freaking stink the beach yo!!!
