When he accepted he was an issue in his life, that’s when the entity attacked him. The entity attacked everyone Clark was mad at, finally he was mad at himself.

he wants to be an architect, yet finds clarity in a place that architecturally makes no sense :(

This movie requires you to think on a deeper, more mature level. That’s probably why a lot of people didn’t like it is because it didn’t fit their idea of the backrooms horror. But if you watch it with an open mind, and really look into the little details. It’s an incredible masterpiece.

He’s where he wants to be, surrounded by reflections of himself and his memories. He’s bound to the past, and moving on is when he died

i feel like not many people bring up that Clark is a failed architect in a endless maze of impossible architecture. in a way, this place is endless wonder to him, why would he ever want to leave? He was bound to go insane the moment he saw the place :p

Clark may not be remembered by someone, but the Backrooms remembered him.

the reason why he was talking so nicely to the pirate monster is because he was quite literally talking to himself. the pirate is a warped version of him.

I think the back rooms is many things, but mainly a reflection of the ever changing and confusing state of the human mind. It brings a sense of comfort and wonder, like all you wanna do is figure it out and escape. But your trapped, and can only escape through your conviction. Clark’s convictions made him stay in a place where others would so badly want to leave. he felt comfortable in what most would consider literal hell. with the comfort and wonder it can bring, confusion and being lost, Comes with that. It’s a feeling of comfort and wonder, only achievable through intense isolation. Clark may have wanted to connect with others. But the infinite isolation the back rooms brought, may have been what he really needed. It’s like the place plays into your beliefs and feelings. And takes you deeper based on that. Clark had litteraly, nothing else. And suddenly, like he said himself. He had found a little bit of everything there is. He was in a place where even the people surrounding him seemingly felt no pain through his actions. Something he feels he causes everyone he knows. I think the balance kane can bring between emotions and the actual setting/structure of the back rooms is brilliant writing.

i am currently living this reality. im bound to the past because of stuff that happened in my life and i genuinely wish i could go to the backrooms and just live in my depression and never change. i felt his sadness and it was very comforting

I like to think the reason pirate Clark is bigger than all the other still life is because of how angry real Clark is with the world so the backrooms manifested his angry into creating this giant monster version of him.

He’s relatable in so many ways. Watching the movie made me feel so called out, like they were reading from a script inside my mind. He felt comfort in an isolated and corrupt place more than the world, the public. They rejected him and he would rather have succumbed to his own guilt and shame than heal and face reality for what it really is. This character made me feel so seen. It gets to a point where even if you WANT to change, you feel you cannot because that sadness and hopelessness will always linger and tell you otherwise, contradicting any kind of positive emotion you may feel. Changing feels impossible when you feel you don’t deserve it. Anger is the most felt emotion most depressed people feel, so that emotion, in a way, becomes a safe space to let all your emotions out, even if it’s sadness, anger is what shows up and it can take your life away. Clark was a perfectly written character with flaws, failures and mistakes. I wish we could have gotten to see him more before everything happened, i liked him a lot.
