I've never understood statute of limitations. if you committed a crime you committed a crime. why do you get it for free if you don't get caught for a certain amount of time?

Don't you love how these guys who are previous criminals, say he's a scumbag and danny masterson deserves to be locked up which they have to say because they will lose viewers.. but they don't agree with him being locked up because of the new statute of limitations laws. They say that because then maybe laws can be created that can get get rid of limitations on laws THEY broke.

I dont have a problem with extending thr statute of limitations for crimes, specially serious ones...but charges and convictions have to be based off of strong evidence like you had a DNA sample and years down the road a match shows up in a criminal database. it cant just be witness testimony or something that is flimsy and would only get less accurate over time

I don't hate the change to the law but I think the statue of limitations should still apply to those crimes that happened prior to the new change in 2017 that had exceeded the statue of limitations like if statue of limitations is 15 years then any crime that happened longer than 15 years prior to 2017 should still apply but any crime that has not reached the statue of limitations but occurred prior to 2017 shouldn't apply the statue of limitations. I think that's a fair way to make that work

No legislation can be passed and make it retroactive. See Article 1 section 9 clause 3. No expost facto laws. He can appeal it and win on constitutional grounds. I would move it to federal court first.

Most state standards give the victim 10 years after the 18th birthday to make a complaint

Not many countries have a state of limitation except for minor crimes, I think they are called “misdemeanor offenders” in America
