Whew. I had so much guilt when I left my kids with my parents (for 3 months) to pursue a career that would ultimately put us in a better position. 20 years later, we are all just fine and my kids still love me.

Also like… systems need to be created to support mothers, especially single mothers better than what now exists. How are systems meant to be created when we’re constantly doing what has been tried and true ( and it doesn’t work) ? You breaking out of a mold imposed onto you by the patriarchy’s ideas of motherhood doesn’t serve you when the patriarchy FAILS mothers, fails women period. for women to have the opportunity to reach our fullest potential we have to break these molds and give permission. What you’re doing is breaking a mold and from that creating new systems. What you’re doing is creating space for new systems to be created and idk I don’t have kids yet but I think that’s really important. That’s the world I hope exists for me when I become a mother. 🤍 sending you love on your journey! 🇭🇹
