@nutritionsmadesimple: NGS Helps and Saves Lives Of Humans Amazingly. I am Dr. Michael Richman, a double certified cardiothoracic surgeon, and want to stress that next generation sequencing (NGS) is crucial for proper tumor treatment—don’t let delays or lack of testing cost you precious #tumorawareness #healthcare #tumors #NextGenSequencing #tumor
My husband was just diagnosed with thyroid cancer. We meet with a surgeon in 2 days. Do you suggest we ask for this? He has no symptoms. The tumor was found by accident after having a low dose lung CT. He had been a smoker previously.

Thanks for that, it made a difference in my case. Metastatic melanoma with the Braf gene. Was initially treated in Miami w immunotherapy but also had a dr at MSK who specializes in melanoma and she immediately put me on Braf/ mek after testing. Within 2 days I felt better and 18 months later (now). The only spot left is 1.5x3 cm that was over 9. Everything else is gone. I feel like they saved my life and hope I can continue for a long time!

NGS stands for Next-Generation Sequencing.
In cancer, NGS is a laboratory test that examines the DNA (and sometimes RNA) of a tumor to identify specific genetic mutations, fusions, amplifications, or other abnormalities that may be driving the cancer.

I had aortic valve replaced in 2015 at Duke University hospital. Any tips on keeping my INR in range? It’s varies so much even though I’m consitant with my diet

Speaking from someone with HER2+ breast cancer this testing has been crucial. Be an advocate for yourself, ask for what you need if it’s not ordered.
