that artists who draw fat people shouldn't be burned at the fucking stake shouldn't be a hot take but just came from a video where someone drew a fat character (not chubby, fat) and everyone in the comments was bullying them or calling it fetish art when it's just a real human body.

i personally don't understand things like adopts or closed species where you have to pay/are prohibited to use a design for various reasons. not to say these things are dumb—i know artists make a living off these things, and i think they're also very creative, but if there is no copyright on these designs what is stopping anyone from using them paywall or not? i personally don't but i don't see how it stops others 💭

it’s obviously completely okay to not like art / an artstyle !!! however I do think publicly stating it about small artists comes off as bullying or being rude and isn’t necessarily . just because something isn’t inherently wrong doesn’t mean it isn’t a rude thing to do .

People are way too comfortable on this app with being plain rude to others, its fine to not like an artstyle but how does that give you the right to insult that person? What incentive does that give them to improve? I fully believe the community on this app would rather put artists down instead of uplifting them and thats a damn shame

I dont think beginner artists should do commissions. im not trying to be mean but whatever happened to art trades or doing art fight. I would say since commissions revolve around money just stick to trading your art until you have a stable money situation?
