I used to do themed parties like this and found out later people were talking shit behind my back. Like they just looked for anything and everything that wasn't perfect. I should've seen the sign early because they would kind of turn up their nose at things that I would do that were I thought special. And they would always arrive late and leave early. Now I'm trying to find my people. So that I can do things like this again and feel like people are enjoying it not just taking it as competition.
