@thehylandrose: When I began this painting I didn’t set out to paint church history. I painted this with a verse in mind “The light shines in the darkness” (John 1:5) But I found out that the earliest Christians had already been here. In the catacombs of Rome, they gathered in dark underground tunnels and painted peacocks as a symbol and reminder of the resurrection of Christ. #christianity #faithjourney #symbolism #spiritualart #jesusislord
