The Great Depression really did in most early 20th century clothing. All my life, I've seen enough 1940s and newer vintage clothing, but anything pre-WWII has always been particularly scarce. People didn't have a lot of clothing back then, and what they had, they generally wore it until threadbare.

Macy’s has some fantastic suits from the 80s available, and they sell at the lowest prices. Much of it made in Canada, Poland, and USA. My best “straight” suits are from macys, the kind of stuff I’d wear to a job interview.

fantastic video! i have a stupid question: for pieces over a century old, are there specialty stores you have to go to to find clothing or accessories from this time period? i imagine due to their age they may have to be handled differently than what you see at places like goodwill and the like 🤔
