I don’t expect anyone to understand. 4 surgeries and chronic pain for 8 years and still treated like a liar or drug seeking. It is so old. After jumping through all the hoops given to me it’s still that way. Nothing has helped and because I won’t go down the neuro stim route it’s worse. Doesn’t help I live in a small area and doctors here don’t understand it.

They also don't see the pain meds and relaxation meditation I have to do 2 hours before going anywhere too.

That is terrible, I feel like I can see the pain in your eyes,the slight ways you adjust how you sit,I see your pain and the battle you are going through -all the while taking the time to share such deep understanding truths and outreaching to others who are also misunderstood when you don't have to. I stopped lying about my pain. The people who matter, want to know how I'm really doing. They don't need me to mask or deny my pain. I stopped letting what other people think affect my well-being. At least most of the time. 😜😁

My parents are old school boomers. I have hEDS- I’ve been masking my pain my entire life. It’s more exhausting trying to get them to understand than to just accept the fact that they don’t have the capacity to understand my situation. Takes a long time to get there tho 😢

A state medical Dr said I had the syndrome where people lie and exaggerate because I told him he was hurting me during my exam when I told him not to bend my limbs because it hurt smh 💔

I know you’re not lying about your pain. You have an understanding that only comes from someone who knows what it is like to live in constant pain. Anyone who says you’re lying has no idea what it’s like to live in pain, with chronic health condition(s), or both. I’m in a flare right now where everything seems impossible.
