I always think back to Nikki letting Bear know how she’s only open to him about things she couldn’t with others and I assume it’s because Bear is there to “listen” but he was never actively listen and this scene confirms it for me.

It’s funny because there’s also the scene where she’s outside the car and asks him if he likes her and how it was his only chance to confess his feelings and he cowers. That’s when I realized that he didn’t wanna do that work .

Love stories and romances kinda follow the square and rectangle axiom. All romances are love stories but not all love stories are romances. I think this choice is very symbolic of freedom as writing love stories gives the writer alot more freedom than just writing a romance. Which given the out come of the movie is very ironic but gives you a deeper look at her character she seemed to be more free spirited and that makes the tragedy of this movie wrenching
