@selfmasterycommunity: If you’re trying to get rid of anxiety, there’s a better way than fighting it. I work with people using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and one of the most important shifts is this: we stop trying to eliminate anxiety and instead learn how to expand around it. I’ve been teaching mindfulness, breathwork, and nervous system regulation for years, and the pattern I see is always the same—people get stuck because they’re in a fight with their own internal experience. Here’s the shift. Instead of “accepting anxiety,” we practice expansion. That means you notice what’s here… the tight chest, the racing thoughts, the heaviness in your stomach… and instead of trying to push it away, you gently make space for it. Not because you like it. Not because it’s good. But because fighting it is what keeps it stuck. And in ACT, that’s just the first step. From there, there are 5 core processes that work together: You learn to notice thoughts as just thoughts, not facts. That’s cognitive defusion. You learn to come back into your body and environment right now. That’s present moment awareness. You get clear on what actually matters to you. That’s values clarification. And then you start taking small actions in that direction, even with discomfort present. That’s committed action. Expansion is what allows all of this to happen—because if you’re fighting your inner experience, you can’t move forward. So the goal isn’t to feel better first. It’s to stop adding struggle on top of what you already feel. Then life starts to open up again. If you want, comment “EXPAND” and I’ll show you a simple practice you can use when anxiety hits in real time.#nervoussystemregulation #nervoussystemregulationtips #nervoussystemhealing #anxietyawareness
