Ken Carson and Destroy Lonely demonstrated the latest "00 Twins" hand signal at the GucciCore event in Times Square, New York. Jordan Carter, better known by his stage name Playboi Carti, is an acclaimed American rapper, songwriter, and music entrepreneur born in Atlanta, Georgia. As one of the most important artists of the mid-2010s, Carti came into fame owing to hits like Die Lit (2018) and the iconic Whole Lotta Red (2020) with its rage-rap style combining warped rhythms, ad-libs, and vampire imagery. In 2019, Carti established Opium (00pium stylization), an independent record label based in Atlanta, GA. Under the umbrella of Interscope Records and Universal Music Group, the roster includes several other Atlanta-born artists, including Ken Carson (joined in 2019 as the first signer) and Destroy Lonely (early 2021). The former, originally hailing from Calhoun, GA, achieved popularity in the underground circuit and performed on Whole Lotta Red; besides that, his solo releases like Project X and X were essential for rage-rap culture. The latter signed after going viral thanks to the tracks on SoundCloud such as "Bane" and "Oh Yeah." Both artists gained their fame through the influence of Carti's network and his own success on the internet, in social media, in big features, and in tours, exemplifying the "vamp" culture of Opium. The "YVL Handshake" (Young Vamp Life) is a unique sign of greeting used by the community, and consists of the thumbs, index, and middle fingers making a twisting hand movement. The 00pium version of the handshake can be called "00 Twins".
