They are right hand scissors. When you try and cut with scissors with your left hand the blades spread apart.

I'm a lefty and I had to adapt in a family full of righties. No special lefty items for me. You do have to hold the scissors a certain way to keep the blades together but it's possible and I do it everyday! I never realized I had a special skill lol

Lefty here. Turn the scissors upside down. Idk why this works w right handed scissors but it does.

this is because of the way the blades interact with each other due to our finger positions while cutting.. lefthand scissors exist for a reason 😅

They are right handed scissors. I am left handed and the way I move my hand to use right handed scissors, I get them bent out of shape so eighties can't cut with them anymore. 🤷♀️

Ich bin Linkshänder. Habe mit "normalen " Scheren für Rechtshänder schneiden gelernt, da es kaum Linkshänder Scheren gab, als ich klein war....schneidet ganz normal. Es kommt drauf an wie man Druck auf die Klingen ausübt. 😊

There are actually left and right hand scissors for a reason. The thicker blade has to be facing up.

I've got 2 left handed sons and discovered they had to have left hand scissors at school and they cost more too because of the brand they stock that sell them

I’m a lefty and that question has been THE EPITOME OF MY LIFE 😅😅😅 like what is wrong with it 😂 I’ve even tried using my left and needing it like a pretend right hand, still won’t work 😅😂

Hahahahaha as a lefty! It’s the way the blades are angled 😅😅 however… left handed scissors normally cut both ways 🤣🤣🤣 being left handed isn’t for the weak

I’m a leftie, and STRUGGLED learning how to cut in Kindergarten I. The 80’s! When I would try to use my left hand, I would get in trouble. Needless to say, I cut with my right hand.

When you flip the scissors over you invert the blades (there is a top and bottom position of the blades) and the force you apply with your hand needs to flip in order to compensate. Left handed scissors have the blade postions switched do to the way they interact according to the way your hand applies the force.
