He spent much of his childhood in Rawalpindi and became involved in literary circles at a young age through the renowned organization Halqa-e-Arbab-e-Zauq. Known for his socially conscious and thought-provoking poetry, Usman writes in Urdu, Persian, Punjabi, Potohari, English, and Hindi. His work often explores themes of social justice, poverty, political realities, and the struggles of ordinary people. Over the years, he has published several acclaimed poetry collections, including Ashk Aabad, Charagh Zaar, Sitara Saz, and Tarash, earning recognition as one of the distinctive voices of modern Urdu poetry.
