@janxx1534: Sometimes, it feels like no matter what I do, I'm always the one at fault simply because I'm the child. It feels like nothing I do is ever right, and whenever I try to explain my side, I'm told that I'm being disrespectful or that I've learned to fight back against my parents. I understand that parents deserve respect, but being a parent doesn't mean being perfect. Parents can make mistakes too. The painful part is when those mistakes are never acknowledged because, in their eyes, the child is always the problem. How am I supposed to feel when my own mother chooses to believe someone else over her own child? Especially someone who isn't even my real father. No child would be happy knowing that their voice means less than the opinion of another person. Respect should go both ways. Listening, understanding, and giving someone a chance to speak doesn't mean they are being disrespectful it means they are hurting and simply want to be heard. I never wanted to fight. I only wanted my feelings, my truth, and my place in this family to matter :) #familyproblems #tired
