the question shouldn't be about whether 5 days is a short vacation or not. it should be about being ungrateful for a planned and paid for trip and not being able to constructively discuss expectations.

We don’t go on month long vacations but in my country we have 1 month summer vacation and some time off during christmas or a week ”ski” vacation” in february. So 4-6w a year paid vacation time.

even in Europe more than 2 weeks isn't really heard of - we get a month per year total

In Germany you get 4-6 weeks of paid vacation a year (depending on the job, level & company) but no one I know or have known has ever gone for longer than 2 weeks 😅 unless you’re part of the upper class no one goes on month long vacations 😅

I'm swedish. and I get 30 days vacation. that includes Christmas and other holidays. But yes. a month spread over the year.

2 weeks is already considered a long vacation in the Netherlands and Germany. Most people have 7 days vacation (with travel included)

I live in Poland. Indeed we have 20 or 26 days of paid leave but we mostly go for 3-7 days of vacation because we don’t have more money. Not everyone, but people who earns around minimal salary, yes

I accumulated 3 hrs of vacation time at a job once was there for over a year with perfect attendance. vacations are a luxury in America not a necessity which is tragic
