David Packard, the founder of Hewlett Packard said that marketing was far too important to be left to marketing. Philip Kotler said marketing creates an environment for sales to be made. Those two definitions help place marketing in its right perspective and Rory here is 100% right.

THE ARCH ENEMY OF GREAT MARKETING NOWADAYS are clients who are driven by their own ego. Rather than allow great ideas to win, a growing number of clients today feel the need to either go with their own idea or tweak your great idea to the point that it loses its essence🙏
