Not considering the rule that made helmets mandatory didn’t come in until the early 90’s if I remember correctly.

i've seen pictures of Colorado State wearing motorcycle helmets in the 70s. Light Helmets recently entered the football helmet market and advertised they were the first to create the helmet with Styrofoam padding, but that technology has been around for decades.

Love that you mentioned the thing with helmets damaging noses. My grandpa played back in the 60’s for Northern State (in South Dakota) and he would essentially break his nose every game because of his helmet. Also….tell the hall to induct Kellen Moore already 😂
