When it comes to power mayuri is extremely dangerous despite not relying on raw physical strength or superior swordsmanship like some of the other captains his true edge comes from his geniuslevel intellect relentless preparation and devastating abilities that function like scientific hax his shikai ashisogi jizo is a bizarre tridentlike blade that paralyzes the nervous system on contact leaving victims unable to move while they still feel everything his bankai konjiki ashisogi jizo takes things further as a giant grotesque babylike creature that breathes adaptive poisonous gas derived from his own blood it evolves based on the data he collects during battle and can be modified even more in the thousandyear blood war arc allowing him to counter and defeat opponents who would otherwise overwhelm him through brute force with his body heavily altered through his own experiments enabling regeneration liquefaction and custom drugs he turns fights into calculated experiments where he almost always has the upper hand if given time to study his target.
