You’ll need to be more efficient with more work and less time to study. Nobody taught me how to study. I had to figure it out the hard way, and I wish I would’ve learned these habits sooner because they would’ve saved me so much time, stress, and late nights. Here are the 5 study habits I’d give my younger self. 📘 1) Study in 90-minute blocks (45/15 method) • 45 minutes focused, 15 minutes completely off your phone • Use the last 30 minutes to push again or switch subjects • This matches your brain’s natural focus cycle so you don’t burn out 🏫 2) Don’t go home between classes • Staying on campus keeps your momentum and stops the crash • Review assignments, skim notes, or plan your week • Listen to your readings at 1.5x while you walk to stack study time 🌅 3) Skip all-nighters — study in the morning • Morning focus is sharper and more consistent • You get more done in 90 minutes than 3 hours at night • Sleep helps your brain actually store what you learned 🎧 4) Learn in different ways • Use videos or podcasts to break down confusing topics • Build a quick mental summary before you start reading • Switching formats helps you understand faster and stay engaged 🧠 5) Test and teach • Test yourself even when you don’t feel ready — that’s when it sticks • Explain it like a 5-minute breakdown to a friend • If you can teach it simply, you understand it • Concise communication becomes a real academic superpower These habits would’ve changed everything for me.
