Go to Settings —> Privacy & Security —> App Privacy Report (&/or) Microphone to see what apps have recently accessed those sensors. It’ll also show what apps have permission to access those sensors

I don't know about iPhones, but Android lets you disable the microphone for individual apps. maybe your device has that option. (of course, if the powers that be want the mic on, there's not much we can do to stop it 😬)

Mine comes on randomly but turns off when i notice it. They're not gonna anything interesting from me besides me talking to myseld or my animals (i live alone). I also dont have apps running in the background when it happens. It so weird!!

You may have to go to settings and shut off all of your settings for microphone and camera as well as tracking if you still have issues with someone following you or breaking in.
