People are NOT understanding the more people that participate the more likely the program will continue. These programs are not income based.

The comments are not it! She’s actually helping other families be fed by going and getting it for her own family. In order to keep funding for these programs more people need to go get the food.

Not only does this help with funding for these programs, BUT it’s also a GREAT stigma reducer!! If everyone’s using these services then it’s less “embarrassing” for those who may be struggling. Pride and stigma can stop a lot of people from getting help!!

as someone who works in a school nutrition department, getting meals helps the program! the more meals given away, the more funding the program gets! if you want school meals to get better that requires money, so this is a great way to support! ALL KIDS deserve meals no matter what!!!

I actively work the summer feeding programs for 2 summers now. We give meals for EVERY child regardless of income, we don’t even check for income! The more people that participate, the more funding we get to continue the program.

The less people who use the program means less money and or availability for said program. Why is everyone hating that she is using a resource to keep the resources numbers up and it’s less stress for her over the summer to provide meals because it’s expensive to feed kids nowadays so to be able to have one meal cheaper that’s a win

If your school district does this please participate regardless of your income. The participation makes sure they continue the programs. You are helping ensure those who need it have access to food during the summer.

It’s for any school age child. If they don’t give them all away the county loses funding for the following year. Our county practically begs families to come by and get food.
