the found footage scenes in Backrooms were so fucking good. I also haaaate that Obsession and Backrooms are being compared when they are *so* different. I think it's primarily because they are both debuts from young directors, but it's ridiculous.

Anyone who claims back rooms was a great movie after sitting through that pain in the ass is somebody who just wants to sound elevated in their judgment of movies. So they're going to pretend like they got it. And how, you know, they're lying is because there's nothing there to get. It's not a good movie. It's a piece of cat shit and the only reason it's selling tickets is obvious. The 2 YouTubers that created these 2 movies were advertised in a pair in a bunch, and the movies released back-to-back. And even remaining in the theaters together for a certain amount of time that obsession has left while it's still making money, they're not going to pull it, obviously. So it has lived on right on through the opening of back rooms and the problem with that is it's very misleading to moviegoers because they automatically first they're going to see obsession and think damn that was good. That moved me in every scene in one direction or another. It was fun trying to pick out any secret messaging in it. It was very good. Some people more than I've ever seen before. Rated, it a perfect 10 out of 10 and I was close to that also. But then you see the trailer for back rooms. The first time I ever saw it, I said, yeah, no, thank you. But then, with the hype of it of them always talking about these 2 YouTubers as if they're a team. So people started going to it.And I think people are afraid to come out and say, that's up.Because then they'll just sound like somebody who doesn't get it.When honestly it's okay to say because there's nothing there to get

Obsession I think was for people who like straightforward horror, and backrooms was for people who like horror that is interpreted by the audience and leaves more to be desired for future movies

Obsession is objectively better. Backrooms has issues with the script, pacing, and is generally lacking in the scares and tension department.
