I've had near THIS EXACT situation a few times. It's a HORRIBLE place to be in. They hired the other person because they "liked them" better. Plain and simple. Hired from OUTSIDE the company, ZERO experience, when I was willing to do the hours, had 70% of the work tasks squared for the Manager position, and they STILL hired them over me. 🤷♂️I put in my two weeks, trained the new Manager as minimally as possible, and went on my way. That was SUCH a toxic work environment.

That’s literally what happened at frito lay, the production manager brought his whole family tree. My mom was there for 15 years and was never promoted while the manager’s niece was promoted the 3rd week. My mom had to train her for a whole month. That was beyond ridiculous.
