People in the west love to make excuses for Japan in general. I lived there in 2014-15 and I never heard so much casual racism in my life. Specifically about Chinese and South Koreans. Now Japanese people blame it on tourists behaving badly but this has been a social issue for forever. People look for reasons to hate on Chinese people and this is just the newest thing. Obvious they shouldn't smoke on the street, so either tell them or call the cops and they get a punishment. It's literally that simple.

Japan was never properly checked on their behavior toward other countries like Germany was in WW2. While Germany was subjugated for a few years before West Germany came to be, most if not all of Japan’s military and their monarchy were kept intact.

The reason why typhoons avoid China is because they avoid land. Typhoons are born in water, and the more closer they are to land, they loose their power. They drift really close to shore.
