there are other problems with ai that don't effect the environment. also, ecogpt is somewhat better than chatgpt, but there's no way to use any ai without wasting an obscene amount of water. also, many of these issues you're showing aren't caused by ai, but pollution and global warming

EcoGPT still relies on data centers, the same thing ChatGPT relies on. in fact every single AI that you have ever used relies on data centers. so no there's no substitute that will magically not make the water dirty, you should also consider the fact that water is used to cool data centers, and it's not just that, the water is reused over and over again on closed or semi-closed loops. try again with a better argument, or should i also consider that every single Social Media you use relies on Data Centers, heats up so it needs either water or non-conductive dielectric fluid to cool itself? would you worry about that too? i should also consider that not every data center, AI or not, uses water. it can use non-conductive dielectric fluid. "b-but Ecosia a-a-and EcoGPT uses s-solar energy!" almost every other platform too. since 2019 the use of non renewable energy has decreased even before generative AI were there. Seriously, could you show one source of OpenAI using data centers that use non renewable energy? probably not. "Give up Google search!" you rely on Google for something, even trying to give up, you are using 1% or 2% of it (Gmail, YouTube...) and most people don't even know they are almost completely dependent of google. on Android it's even worse. Google owns Android, and Google applications and frameworks are incorporated into it. "but iOS!" Sure, iOS. but should i also mention that Apple is investing in AI, the so-called Apple Intelligence, which helps in editing photos and more, so by buying an iPhone, you're giving Apple money to invest in it? or should i also mention that even if you are giving up on using AI, comapanies will still force it down your throat? that's true. i could also mention that FIFA is using their AI on this world cup to predict what will be the results of this world cup. No, i'm being serious. research can lead you to what i'm talking about. every person in this comment says "their eco-friendly AI uses renewable energy, wind, and not non-renewable energy or "water" energy!".
