wholehearty think its the first. that dog RUSHED to guard that door way. she does not want the other near it at all.

So it could be that … but I’ve also seen exactly this behavior in dogs that have had a bad experience with dog doors specifically ones that have gotten stuck when more than one tries to go through at once. This is now how my parents’ older dog acts anytime she is being closely followed by any of the younger ones but specifically their golden retriever who has a nasty habit of trying to force himself through the door with his sister and getting them both badly stuck and at least once badly hurt
