YESSSS it's definitely a slow burn but a comfortable one!! one that happens slowly and over time with lots of platonic and romantic love. i think grace would hate to rush Simon into a relationship. i think he would want to prove to Simon that he was worth loving, and not even in a romantic way. just that Simon deserved love because he is human.

I recommend “Within as spectoscropic binary” on ao3, man oh man when i tell you the author is so good at conveying their emotions and their conversations with each other, nothing is rushed and when something new happens it happens in such good pacing. The author is so good at capturing and showing their PTSDs and how they each take turns comforting each other and also allowing themselves to freak out.

I feel like Simon could act aggressively, but never with the intention of hurting others, just to protect (isolate) himself. Like if Grace goes "too far" (has in maybe showing affectio too soon) he would tell him to back off, to leave him alone, but that's mostly it.
