@drdavidabbasi: These doctors are manually turning a baby around inside the womb. From the outside. 👀🍼 This procedure is called an External Cephalic Version — or ECV — and it is one of the most remarkable things you will ever watch happen in obstetric medicine. When a baby is in breech position — feet or bottom down instead of head down — delivering vaginally becomes significantly more complicated and risky. ECV is the procedure that gives that baby one last chance to get into the right position before delivery. Here is what is actually happening: → The mother is given medication to relax the uterine muscles → Ultrasound monitors the baby's position and heart rate throughout → Two physicians apply firm, careful pressure to the outside of the abdomen → They guide the baby through a forward or backward somersault → The goal is to get the head pointing down toward the birth canal It looks intense. Because it is. Success rates range from 50 to 80 percent depending on factors like how much fluid surrounds the baby, the position of the placenta, and whether this is the mother's first pregnancy. When it works — a vaginal delivery becomes possible and a C-section is avoided. When it doesn't — the surgical team is already standing by. 🏥 Medicine doing everything it can for two patients at once. 🙏 ✅ Follow @drdavidabbasi for More Daily Medical Content & Health Tips! 🌴😷 Schedule a consultation in Delray Beach! “Save?” What do you mean save? Isn’t caesarean section good either?

I had an ECV at 37 weeks, the consultant was great, a little uncomfortable but not painful, done in about 30 seconds 😂. He said it was the easiest one he'd done in a long time!
