Hemmingway's novel, like much of his writing, is too macho for my liking. and how Hemmingway portrays the natural world as something subaltern and subservient to man's indomitable will, is a dated ideology—and one that has resulted in the destruction of much of our precious planet's ecosystems. so, unsurprisingly, i was rooting for the marlin. and then the sharks the sharks. that said, this short film looks stunningly & evocatively animated and i'll definitely check it out

it's such a simple and easy story that when one of my old teachers showed my graduation class the live action versions,weirdly I was the only one from 20 students who got the memo, that the story was about the cleaness of a fight or just carrying on no matter what
