IOS is NOTORIOUSLY unreliable in their gps tracking. I’ve yet to find one AirTag that was accurate.

Yes, a phone can ping or display the wrong address. Location errors are common and happen for a variety of technical reasons

He didn’t say that he said the phone location is there so his son had took an Uber and maybe you are in the Uber or whatever the ride was he took he left the phone in the car so either you’re the driver or you gave someone a ride after his son was in the vehicle and your person picked up the phone that was in the vehicle

it can ping there if it is in a car and drove by that house at the time you checked your location. check your location again it may say somewhere different now. at least that was my case when my kid lost their phone

Sometimes those things mess up. My daughter had herself all panicked thinking her bf was in the middle of a field somewhere when he was in bed. I wouldn’t have believed it if the poor thing didn’t drive all the way out there to check. I imagined it’s caused a lot of unnecessary fights 🤣🤣
