WAYNE COUNTY, Michigan — A 22-year-old man appeared in virtual court for an assault and battery case, but the hearing quickly took an unexpected turn when a cat filter suddenly activated on his camera. 🐱💻 The defendant had joined the Zoom hearing with a Golden Gate Bridge background before the accidental filter switched on mid-session, catching everyone off guard. “Aw, snap. My bad. I’m sorry,” he said as the filter appeared. The judge warned that the hearing could be postponed if he couldn’t regain composure. Moments later, the man turned off the filter, showed his face, and apologized once again.
