I love this but genuinely HOW do you keep your fruits and veggies good for a whole month??? My toddler goes through berries like nobody’s business, there’s no way I can keep them fresh for weeks if I buy them in bulk up front??

I think the most impactful thing I’ve learned from your content is that even though I can afford to spend more money on groceries, why should I? I can put that money towards vacations or retirement.

Wow. I spend like $1500 a month on groceries. I need to figure out your ways. (But I also live in Alaska, so I suppose that’s part of the issue).

I chop up my onion and pepper and add them to snack bags and freeze. No waste.

I switched to powdered milk because I just use it for cooking and there’s no difference in the end

I loveee your content but get annoyed at the people who comment all the time how this wouldn’t work for them or they eat more etc. it annoys me lol. I don’t follow the same budget as you, but still learn so many helpful tips!

I was just telling a co worker about your videos the other day, and it got me thinking..I think one of main things that allow someone to go shopping once a month is a good fridge! We recently got all new appliances, and I CANNOT believe the difference it makes in how long our food lasts! I haven’t heard you mention that before (maybe I missed it) and maybe it’s worth noting, but maybe not. Shit is expensive and I know not everyone can just run and go buy new appliances. Just my little two cents lol. Love your vids!

Stop saying “that doesn’t work for me” and start saying “how can I make that work for me” when someone shares their ways to save money with us.

I know that the way you do things would never work for me… at least not with me being a willing participant 😅… but I still stay for every video because I love your perspective on shopping and it has helped me rethink my grocery shopping habits. Thank you for sharing!

I think it’s hard for people to realize this is a skill that you have to practice. Learning how to budget and cook utilizing what you have is a skill. Nicole is pretty dang good at this and that’s great to see how she makes it work.

This method has legitimately changed the way I think about grocery shopping. We have been doing it for a few months now and I love it. I literally only have to think about grocery shopping once…. All month. I budget $400 for us so that I can include convenience food and snacks for on the go for my kids. I think people get caught up on the $300 but that’s just YOUR budget. Everyone can make their own food budget based on their monthly income and expenses 🤷‍♀️

For the international audience: this kind of monthly grocery shopping incl produce only works in the United States. In Europe, for example, among other things, produce spoils a lot quicker which is why a once a month shopping trip would not suffice. Which doesn’t mean that you cannot budget similarly, it just involves more trips per month to the grocery store.

Family of 5. $16.23 left from my $600 budget for May. That included food, animal and paper items. Still haven't been able to get my produce to last more than a week. It molds. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

If anyone else doesn’t drink milk but wants it in their kitchen for cooking/baking, you can buy shelf stable boxed milk. I always find it at the dollar tree. A great way to keep it on hand without going bad!
