it’s bc you went to the observatory festival grounds, the observatory is still indoors! Also unfortunately there is construction going on which made it bad to get to!

I work here on security staff. the venue is primarily indoors but 2-5 times a year we host festivals which are in the parking lot/part of the street (AKA FESTIVAL GROUNDS). If ticket is purchased saying festival grounds it will be OUTDOORS. Has nothing to do with the construction going on nearby, which DID NOT obstruct the festival at all, if it did the festival would have had to be postponed. The rest of 360 days of the year u can pull up to a show indoors but def double check ur ticket when purchasing. For festivals parking is ALWAYS shuttle either from OC Fair Grounds or SAC.

I work here! It’s because they’re doing construction on Lake Center, it was supposed to be completed 5/31 and now it’s not done until 6/5 so it’s the city of Santa Ana not The Observatory

theyve been doing outdoor festivals for at least a decade or so, I know because I remember going to one in 2016 and it was just like this, how are you just learning about this??

the observatory social put updates to this for weeks. when I bought presale tickets it clearly said festival grounds. The big room and the small room are still there. I did a show in both rooms last month. Dont go to AFI or Coheed if you dont like this set up. This is a way for the venue to get the bigger acts

The information on their website was pretty clear, it was either shuttle from SAC or get dropped off on Susan Street. I opted to get dropped off on Susan street and the rest was a breeze. The only thing that made me sad was not being able to purchase my souvenir cup with discounted refills on my margs 😅🤭
