@hillary_klug: This past Saturday at Tennessee Statehood Day, I had the privilege of dancing alongside the music of Daniel Rothwell on banjo while Thomas Maupin looked on. Thomas has spent decades preserving Tennessee’s buck dancing traditions and has received recognition from both the Tennessee Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts. I’m honored to be one of his students and grateful for everything he has shared with me. Happy 230th birthday, Tennessee 🥳
