@madmires: Recently, Nhlanhla Lux Dlamini gave a speech calling for African immigrants to leave South Africa before June 30th, and for people to disassociate from Nigerians, who he claims are a major cause of tensions around immigration. But here’s the truth: as Africans especially us Bantu-speaking people we share deep historical, cultural, and ancestral ties. Many of us trace our roots back to the same regions in West and Central Africa, around modern-day Nigeria and Cameroon. So how can we turn against our own? It’s a shame that Angus McBride’s illustration of a Zulu and Boer alliance seems to mirror what we may be seeing today division, misdirection, and the risk of history repeating itself. Zulu people are being misguided into hating their fellow Africans over economic issues that are often driven by a minority of individuals, both within their country and from external influences.
