I have a question for you based on a conversation I had with my 7yo daughter: if fairies have insect wings, like in most western mythology, what kinds of insect wings would make for the most interesting fairy subspecies, and what would those wings say about the fairy sub-type? Like are fairies with monarch butterfly wings always fairy royalty? Are fairies with dragonfly wings whatever the fairy equivalent of being a dragon rider is? Do ladybird fairies have ladybird traits? Does the insect element also imapct the diet of the fairy? . We were limited in our speculation by common knowledge of insects being fairly basic, so we would love to hear your thoughts.
