The pool just usually gets the credit. But the reality is that it’s actually 𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 that people fall in love with. And before you roll your eyes at that word… Atmosphere is just the emotional response a space creates. That’s it. Simple. Except it’s not. Creating a space that evokes an emotional response you want to keep coming back to doesn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of hundreds of design decisions working together to shape an experience. From the placement of every single light and plant, to where the sun sets and shadows fall, the smallest details matter just as much as the big ones. Think about the last time you walked into a space you loved. You weren’t noticing one feature at a time. You just walked in and felt something. And that feeling was the result of everything working together. THIS is exactly where designers - good designers - earn their keep. We should all be living in spaces that make leaving the house feel completely overrated. Life is just way too short not to. Don’t you agree?
