I've had that exact eye surgery and there is almost no recovery time. You need someone to drive you home and you sleep a lot the first day or two, that's it.

I had double strabismus surgery! After day 2, I was almost 100%. I need help the day of and slept most of day 2. Day 3, I felt perfectly normal. Her husband either wants to milk his recovery like the commenter said or doesnt want her to improve herself.

I had PRK eye surgery a month ago. I stayed home for three days but had plenty of vision to take care of myself, including cooking, cleaning, laundry, keeping myself entertained, etc. The only thing I *needed* was a ride home from the actual surgery.

The recovery time for his surgery is like 24hrs. His eye will be a little red for a couple weeks but he can go back to normal life the next day.

My kid had that eye surgery. She didn’t even need an eye patch after. Just rest from the anesthesia.

He’ll be fine it’s just for his eye. Depending on where her loose skin is, her recovery will take longer anyway.

I was gonna say YTA, but having already gotten a person to come and help out after the surgeries, absolutely NTA. There’s no reason both can’t be done at the same time if you have proper care after. It makes no sense for him to be mad, you aren’t asking him to do literally anything different.

Update: I had my surgery on June 1st. My sister caring for me fell through and my partner ended up taking care of me these past two weeks. I’m healing well, and I’ve actually been quite lucky and haven’t had much pain. His surgery is now on June 17th so its worked out for the two of us!

I want to know more about their relationship, because it seems like they both need to communicate more about their feelings. Could be he is feels like he isn’t going to be able to milk his recovery but it could also be OP does this anytime there is something going on in his life and situations become about her. Getting any type of surgery has its risks but getting surgery on your eyes could turn into a life altering issue they would both have to deal with for as long as they’re together and same goes with the skin removal.
