if vacuum leaks off and can't find w pressure, I disconnect lines from compressor and cap. Then pull vacuum again, and if it holds you know it was the compressor

Compressor shaft seal, or compressor housing case seal, also evaporator core can have a leak u cant see.

Had one that would leak out overnight. Pressurized it to 120 and sprayed everything down. Nothing. Left it over lunch and came back to soapy foam all over the compressor. Sprayed it again and watched it for 10 minutes. The freakin compressor case, like the aluminum itself was so porous that it was leaking through the metal. Wildest thing I ever saw
