Growing up poor will get you into some bad spending habits because you binge spend and another habit I had to break since I also grew up poor was buying things that were really cheap that I had to replace often. One thing that stuck with me was a friend telling me his justification of how he spends money. If it's worth however much time it would take to pay for that from work, is it worth it? Will you spend that much time equivalent roughly with whatever you are buying. A habit that has helped me is taking time every month or two to figure out what I'm spending my money on. I feel like older generations had this because they would go through their checkbook, but we don't have that. I have an app and so it's a little less present for us, it's very out of sight out of mind, which is a habit that has to get broken. absolutely none of this is easy but keep trying
