@saleslionglass: Your children borrow your nervous system before they build their own. Psychologists have studied something called “social referencing” for decades. It is the process where babies and young children look at their parents’ facial expressions and emotional reactions to decide how THEY should feel about a situation. Researchers at the University of California found children constantly regulate fear, uncertainty and emotional response based on parental cues. Meaning many fears are not naturally developed at all. They are conditioned. When ZZ fell over, the first thing she did was look at me. If I panicked, she would have panicked. If I looked terrified, she would have cried. Instead I smiled, told her to stand up and within seconds she was completely fine again. Most children are not reacting to the situation itself. They are reacting to YOU. #thelionglass #parenting101 #ukparents #familyfirst #mumsoftiktok
Really like you guys which is why I followed you, and completely understand your logic insofar as it seems feasible but I believe the complete opposite is true in practice - even if it seems counterintuitive

I agree with this as you can clearly see she hasn’t hurt herself, she is looking for what to do next. So tune into your kids and help them know X💛
